Ingredient for Banana cake with chocolate icing

  • 5 very ripe bananas
  • 360 g brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 g of sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 340 g of self-raising flour
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • Or a teaspoon of salt
  • 200 g couverture coarsely chopped or chocolate tears

For the chocolate icing

  • 300 g cream 35% fat
  • 400 g chopped couverture 70%
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 30 g butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees in the air.
  2. Mash the bananas with the sugar with a hand whisk or with a fork and stir until soft.
  3. Add the eggs, sunflower oil and vanilla and mix.
  4. Then add the dry ingredients (flour, soda, salt) and mix until well combined.
  5. Finally add the couverture.
  6. Put butter and flour in a cake pan and place the mixture.
  7. Our form should be round or elongated 10×30.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes.
  9. Then take it out of the oven and let it cool for 20 minutes and then unmold.

For the chocolate icing

  1. Put the cream in a saucepan to heat. Finely chop the chocolate and put it in a bowl with the butter and honey.
  2. When the cream is warm enough, pour it into the bowl and cover with cling film for 2 minutes.
  3. hen uncover and stir with a hand whisk.
  4. Leave for 3 minutes and then pour the icing on the cake.
  5. It would be good to have the cake placed on a grill so that the unnecessary chocolate runs into a pan.
