Egg coloring- The simple way

If we have the eggs in the refrigerator, let them first reach room temperature to avoid breaking when boiling. Wash and wipe the eggs. Boil 2 ½ liters of water in a pot and then pour into the boiling water two sachets of dye (for 50 eggs) and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Then, carefully put one by one the eggs into the pot and leave to boil for ten minutes. Take the eggs out carefully and “polish” using a cotton dipped in olive oil.

Egg decoration using flowers and leaves

We collect various wildflowers (preferably daisies) and leaves. We get a piece of  tulle or a pantyhose so that the fabric can be wrapped and tied around each egg. Put on the egg the flower or the leaf or both together and wrap the egg with the cloth. We bind tight with a thread. So prepare as many eggs as we want and put them in the pot where we already have the water-dye-vinegar mix ready. Leave for 10 minutes. Then take them out carefully, cut the thread and remove the cloth, the flowers and the leaves. The egg has now been dyed and decorated with white designs. “Polish” using a cotton dipped in olive oil.

Egg coloring using onion peels

Pick some onions peels. We get tulle or a pantyhose so that the fabric can be wrapped and tied around each egg. Cover the whole egg or partially with onion peel and then wrap it with the cloth. We bind tight with a thread. So prepare as many eggs as we want and put them in the pot where we already have the water-dye-vinegar mix. Leave for 10 minutes. Then remove them carefully, cut the thread and remove the cloth and onion peel. Eggs now have different shades.”Polish” using a cotton dipped in olive oil.
