Koulouri stuffed with cheese is an ideal snack for the day, or it can be a great accompaniment to a main meal!

For the dough:

  • 300gr yoghurt
  • 250gr butter
  • 600gr coarse wheat flour
  • 25gr baking powder
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 1 egg

For the filling:

  • 150gr feta cheese
  • 150gr cream cheese
  • 150gr anthotiro
  • pepper

For the sticks:

  • 100gr corn flour
  • 1 egg
  • petimezi
  • Sesame


For the dough:

  1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead until we have a homogeneous dough.
  2. Cover the bowl with a foil and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

For the filling:

  1. In a bowl, cut the feta cheese and the anthotiro in pieces, add the cream cheese, pepper and stir.

For the sticks:

  1. Spread the corn flour on the kitchen counter and roll out the dough with the rolling pin.
  2. Cut the dough into 6 rectangular pieces.
  3. In a small bowl beat the egg.
  4. Place 2 tbsp. filling in each piece of dough and with a brush spread egg around the filling.
  5. Roll in rolls and cut off the edges of the dough.
  6. Put wrapping paper on a baking tray, place the sticks and spread with the egg.
  7. Sprinkle half of the sticks with sesame seeds and the rest with petimezi.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for 30 minutes.
