Tabbouleh salad with shrimp

Delicious, fasting recipe that will delight you!


  • 200gr. of groats
  • 400gr. boiling water
  • 2 bunches of parsley
  • 1/2 bunch of mint
  • 1 green pepper
  • 15 cherry tomatoes
  • 3 spring onions
  • 1/2 onion dry
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 cucumbers
  • olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin (optional)

For the shrimp:

  • 10-12 pieces of shrimp medium size
  • 1 shot of ouzo or wine
  • 1/2 garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 orange juice and zest


  1. Boil the groats in boiling water and leave them for 30-45 minutes until the water is quite evaporated.
  2. Start by finely chopping all the vegetables you put in the tabbouleh.
  3. When the groats have been cooled slightly, put it in a bowl and mix with all the other ingredients in the recipe and refrigerate for half an hour, then serve.


For the shrimp:

  1. Salt and pepper the shrimp well, pour in some olive oil and sauté on high heat for 2 minutes on both sides.
  2. Just before the end add the garlic for taste and quench with the alcohol.
  3. Finally add the orange juice and allow the liquid to be evaporated for a minute, remove from heat and add the butter and mix until well melted.
  4. Garnish with a little orange zest.
