{"id":13354,"date":"2021-11-12T13:59:30","date_gmt":"2021-11-12T13:59:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/petros-syrigos.com\/karydopita-sokolata\/"},"modified":"2025-02-12T08:21:07","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T08:21:07","slug":"karidopita-with-chocolate-sweet-walnut-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/petros-syrigos.com\/en\/karidopita-with-chocolate-sweet-walnut-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cKaridopita\u201d with chocolate (Sweet walnut pie)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element vc_custom_1636716028425\"> <div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"> <p>An easy recipe for a tasty \u201ckaridopita\u201d with chocolate, one of the most famous traditional sweets in Greece!<\/p> <h4>Ingredient<\/h4> <ul> <li>500 g chopped walnuts<\/li> <li>250 gr. fresh butter<\/li> <li>200 gr. sugar<\/li> <li>8 eggs<\/li> <li>200 gr. toast<\/li> <li>4 tbsp. baking powder<\/li> <li>1 tbsp. cinnamon powder<\/li> <li>1\/2 tbsp. clove powder<\/li> <li>zest of 1 orange<\/li> <li>75 ml of brandy<\/li> <\/ul> <h4>For the syrup:<\/h4> <ul> <li>500 ml of water<\/li> <li>500 g sugar<\/li> <li>70 ml of brandy<\/li> <li>1 vanilla<\/li> <li>1 tbsp orange juice<\/li> <li>1 orange peel<\/li> <\/ul> <h4>For the chocolate icing:<\/h4> <ul> <li>250 gr. butter<\/li> <li>200 gr. powdered sugar<\/li> <li>200 g chocolate in tears<\/li> <\/ul> <\/div> <\/div> <div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element vc_custom_1636716002364\"> <div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"> <h4>Execution<\/h4> <ol> <li>Preheat the oven to 170 degrees.<\/li> <li>Butter a baking tray of about 35 cm and sprinkle it with flour, shake off the extra flour.<\/li> <li>Beat the sugar with the butter in the mixer for about 4 minutes until it becomes a white and fluffy mixture.<\/li> <li>Add the eggs one by one, gradually continuing to beat.<\/li> <li>Add the brandy and the orange zest and beat for a while.<\/li> <li>Set the mixture aside.<\/li> <li>In a large bowl add all the powdered ingredients [toast, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking powder] and mix well.<\/li> <li>Finally, crush the walnut, it must be coarsely chopped.<\/li> <li>Add the mixture to the mixer with the butter mixture and mix until smooth.<\/li> <li>Put the mixture in the pan and bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes.<\/li> <li>Remove the walnut pie from the oven and leave it in the pan on the edge to cool well.<\/li> <\/ol> <h4>For the syrup:<\/h4> <ol> <li>Add all the ingredients for the syrup to a saucepan and boil for 10 minutes after it boils.<\/li> <li>Slowly syrup the walnut pie with a large spoon.<\/li> <li>Set aside the walnut pie to absorb the syrup well and cool.<\/li> <\/ol> <h4>For chocolate glaze:<\/h4> <ol> <li>In a bowl and over boiling water (bain marie) put the butter over medium heat together with the chocolate and stir until melted.<\/li> <li>Sift the sugar, stirring constantly until the ingredients are combined.<\/li> <li>Remove from the heat for 5-8 minutes to cool slightly and pour over the walnut pie.<\/li> <li>Serve the walnut pie with grated walnut<\/li> <\/ol> <\/div> <\/div> ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An easy recipe for a tasty \u201ckaridopita\u201d with chocolate, one of the most famous traditional sweets in Greece!
