Engraved in the memory as the sweets offered by moms and grandmothers at home, they continue to have a place on today’s table, especially during the summer months. Here I suggest my own recipe for a dessert of strawberry that you will make with a few ingredients and it will remind you of August summers!
Ingredient
- 1kg figs
- 1kg sugar
- 3 cups of water
- Peeled almonds
- Juice of 2 lemons
Execution
- Wash the figs well to remove the milk they will have produced. With a sharp knife, cut the stalk a little and remove the dark hard mark from the bottom, removing any spores that will be present.
- Boil the figs in plenty of water, until they are pierced with a fork, for about 5-10 ‘. Strain the figs, rinse them and strain them again. Then put them in a bowl with water that you have poured the juice of 2 lemons and let them tighten for 2-3 hours. Then strain them well.
- Put in each fig an almond. Bring the water and sugar to a boil. When the sugar has melted, add the figs. Boil them in the syrup for about 10-15 minutes (skim if necessary), turn off the heat, remove and leave them there overnight.
- The next day, add the lemon juice and boil the dessert again, until the syrup sets.
